There’s something undeniably special about tasting good wine. The event showcased a wide and wonderfully curated selection of wines, bringing together some of South Africa’s most celebrated wineries. From bold reds to elegant whites, each bottle on offer told a unique story of terroir, talent, and tradition.
Standouts & Favourites
Two names drew a lot of attention: Lismore and Orpheus & The Raven. Both delivered wines full of character and quality — Lismore with its refined, cool-climate style, and Orpheus & The Raven with bold, expressive reds that had everyone talking. Lismore is the pioneer of Wine of origin "Greyton" and it has been designated by SAWIS recognizing the unique and special terroir of this region.
The established estates, as expected, showed up strong. Muratie Wine Estate brought history and heritage in every pour, Groot Constantia delivered timeless quality, and Bosman Wines impressed with their commitment to sustainability and balance.
Why This Matters to Us
Events like these give us the chance to connect the dots — between the vineyard and the veld, between passionate winemakers and the safari industry we serve. As the distributor of these wines in Hoedspruit and surrounding areas, we’re proud to bring these incredible labels to the lodges, restaurants, and private clients who value quality and story in every bottle.
Looking Ahead
Whether you discovered a new favourite or simply enjoyed the experience, we hope the tasting reminded you of what makes South African wine so special — its variety, its roots, and its ability to bring people together. If you'd like to stock any of the wines featured at the tasting, or chat about curating a wine list for your lodge, restaurant, or home, get in touch — we’d love to help.
